Effective date: 7 April 2026. These terms apply to the Reelio iOS app and the reeliotunes.app website.

1. Acceptance of terms

By downloading or using the Reelio iOS app, or by visiting reeliotunes.app, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the app or this website.

We may update these terms from time to time. If changes are significant, we will make reasonable efforts to notify users. Continued use of Reelio after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms. We'll post the updated terms on this page with a new effective date.

2. Use of the app and website

Reelio is provided primarily for personal use. You may use the app to find, read, and organise traditional music tunes for your own enjoyment and musical practice, including incidental use in teaching or performance.

You agree not to:

  • Use Reelio for commercial purposes without our prior written consent
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from the app
  • Use any automated means to scrape, harvest, or collect content from the app or website
  • Use Reelio in any way that violates applicable law or infringes the rights of others

3. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to Reelio if you violate these terms.

4. Intellectual property

The app: The Reelio application - including its code, design, layout, and original content - is copyright © 2026 Reelio. All rights reserved. Nothing in these terms grants you any right to reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works of the app.

Tune data: The tune data displayed in Reelio is sourced from TheSession.org and is contributed by members of the traditional music community. This content belongs to its respective contributors and is made available under TheSession.org's terms. Reelio does not claim ownership of any tune transcriptions, ABC notation, or related community content.

Traditional music: Many traditional tunes are part of a shared cultural heritage and are generally considered to be in the public domain. However, specific transcriptions and arrangements may be subject to rights held by their contributors on TheSession.org.

5. Disclaimer of warranties

Reelio is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that:

  • The app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of bugs
  • Tune data will be accurate, complete, or up to date at all times
  • The app will meet your specific requirements

Tune data is sourced from TheSession.org and may contain errors or inconsistencies. We make no guarantees about its accuracy and accept no liability for any errors in third-party data.

6. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Reelio and its developer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app or website, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or any other losses.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of Reelio is limited to the amount paid by you in the twelve months preceding the claim.

Nothing in these terms excludes any rights you have under Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded by agreement.

7. Third-party services

Reelio relies on third-party services including TheSession.org (tune data), YouTube (in-app video), Amplitude (analytics), and Sentry (crash reporting). We do not control and are not responsible for the availability or accuracy of these services. Your use of these services within Reelio is also subject to those services' own terms and policies.

8. App Stores

These terms apply between you and Reelio, not Apple or Google. Neither Apple nor Google is responsible for the app or its content, and neither has any obligation to provide maintenance or support.

9. Availability and changes

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue Reelio (or any part of it) at any time. We will try to give reasonable notice of significant changes where possible, but we make no guarantees about ongoing availability.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. Any disputes will be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Queensland.
